IRAN SAYS: SPIRIT? WHAT SPIRIT? WE’RE PREPARING FOR WAR!

As Scott noted this morning, President Obama complains that Iran has violated the “spirit” of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action by launching ballistic missiles and calling for the destruction of Israel. Earlier today, Iran responded to Obama’s rather pathetic lament:

Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi blasted US President Barack Obama for his remarks against Tehran’s implementation of the nuclear deal, and said he is raising excessive demands.

“We studied the details of the nuclear agreement and didn’t see anything but its text and don’t have any information about its spirit,” Firouzabadi said, addressing the Chief of Staff’s commanders and officials in Tehran on Tuesday, following the US president’s call on Tehran to work on the spirit of the July nuclear deal.

On Monday, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director general Yukiya Amano explained what had up to this point been a mystery: namely, why its recent reports on Iran’s nuclear program have been so vague and contain such little data. As it turns out, under the Iran nuclear deal or Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), there are now limitations on what the IAEA is allowed to report.

That’s why, seven years ago in Prague, I committed the United States to stopping the spread of nuclear weapons and to seeking a world without them. This vision builds on the policies of presidents before me, Democrat and Republican, includingRonald Reagan, who said “we seek the total elimination one day of nuclear weapons from the face of the Earth.”Thursday in Washington, I’ll welcome more than 50 world leaders to our fourth Nuclear Security Summit to advance a central pillar of our Prague Agenda: preventing terrorists from obtaining and using a nuclear weapon. We’ll review our progress, such as successfully ridding more than a dozen countries of highly enriched uranium and plutonium. Nations, including the United States, will make new commitments, and we’ll continue strengthening the international treaties and institutions that underpin nuclear security.

در این مناظره که با عنوان «حق مسلم» به مناسبت روز ملی فناوری هسته‌ای در دانشکده مهندسی دانشگاه فردوسی مشهد برگزار شد، زیباکلام با طرح این مساله که باید مقدم بر هر چیزی مشخص کنیم که هدف برنامه هسته‌ای دولت‌ها چه بوده است، گفت: سوال اساسی که مطرح می‌شود و باید در یک جمع دانشگاهی به آن پاسخ داد، این است که رویکرد سه دولت خاتمی، احمدی‌نژاد و روحانی درباره برنامه هسته‌ای کشور چه بوده است؟ این هزینه که بیش از یک دهه است بر کشور تحمیل شده، چه چیزی را برای ما به ارمغان آورده است و ما در مقابل این برنامه هسته‌ای چه هزینه‌هایی را پرداخت کرده‌ایم؟

The ancient joke headline goes, "World ends; women, minorities hardest hit." but if Israel attacks Iran's nuclear facilities the black people of both countries will be the first to glow.

If you head south in Chicago, the U.S., Israel, or Iran you'll find black people. Southern Israel's black people, the Hebrew Israelites, came largely from Chicago's storied Cabrini-Green housing project in the late 1960's. Their leader, Ben Ami Ben Israel, had a revelation that since the Torah was given to freed African slaves, American Negoes were by definition lonsmen. Ben Ami led a group of pilgrims into the "much too promised land" in 1970. Once in country the Hebrew Israelites basically refused to leave, proving that they really were Jews. After years of storm and stress the Israeli government settled the Heeb Izzies on an abandoned Soviet military base near the southern desert town of Dimona.
